A variety of speakers will provide grounding reflections on climate justice, prompting folks to respond through creative mediums about what climate justice means to them as individuals and a community. Folks are invited to bring this art to General Assembly and for local organizing in an interwoven narrative about UUism and climate justice.
Young adults (ages 18-35) are also invited to stay after the worship for a young adult caucus with members of UUAYCJ.
UUYACJ bandanas will also be available for purchase and donation.
On Saturday, April 29th, thousands of Unitarian Universalists will be traveling to Washington, D.C. from all over the country and marching together in the Faith contingent for the People's Climate Movement: March for Climate, Jobs and Justice. SATURDAY, APRIL 29 9:00 - 11:00 AM: Cafe Fifty-Nine 409 3rd St. SW 20024 @ Metro Station - Fed Center SW Meet with other UUs at this cafe very close to the starting point for the climate march. The cafe is opening just for us, offering coffee, pastries, a breakfast bar (for purchase), & restrooms. 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM: March for Climate, Jobs, & Justice UUs will be gathering at 11 AM for musical offerings and reflections as part of a larger faith contingent. UUs are encouraged to wear Standing on the Side of Love shirts and other UU attire; and bring signs, flags, banners, etc. 4:00 - 8:00 PM: After Party at All Souls All Souls Church Unitarian 1500 Harvard St. NW @ 16th St. Enjoy Live Music, UU Fellowship, Food Truck Dining & Advocacy at the All Souls Church After-Party, 2 miles from end point of the March. Enjoy the Live Caribbean Music of HIGH ENERGY on the Terrace. Connect and network with UU Climate Justice activists.
